Re: Karndean Flooring
Absolutely do not use it because it is vastly overpriced for what it is. Other stuff will give you more bang for your buck.

Google it.

Highly recommended. Got 82T distressed oak in my kitchen.

Got some LVT after listening to people and reading reviews. I wouldn’t go near it again. Getting the next floors done with engineered wood.

That LVT scratches and stays scratched.

Engineered oak is indeed the way forward.

Re: Karndean Flooring
I'm thinking of getting some cushioned vinyl in my flat - it's an old building with concrete floors so anything laminate/wood isn't allowed under the terms of the lease.

I've had a look at Karndean but have also been recommended Forbo and another called Rhino...

I'm still not sure what to go for...

Re: Karndean Flooring
Do it. I had my place done. Only kitchen hall in karndean. The rest carpet. Screed the floors first and get a decent fellah to fit. Best ever. Looks great too. Go for a darker wood finish. Winner end of.

I've got oak planks through the whole of our gaff downstairs(no bevelled edged pre-varnished shit)just tongue and grove flat planks outlives anything
Paid £40 m2 fitted it myself more or less.Looks the bollocks.

If you do go for oak allow a couple of months for it to acclimatise and 15 % waste.

Re: Karndean Flooring
Forget Karndean and look at Amtico. Looks much more realistic and much more choices of wood or stone effect. The Signature range Oaks look fantastic, especially if you're after an aged effect.
Avoid the cheaper LVT's altogether. They look plastic and every tile repeats every 6 planks or so which looks awful when fitted.

If you have floorboards you'll need a 6mm plywood fitted first, if it's concrete then a decent smoothing compound.

Will last forever if fitted properly and extremely low maintenance
